1955 NSF cent

Found it when I went through a friends penny hoard she been saving for years. Made a deal if I found anything valuable we would go 50%/50%. Took it to the local coin dealer and was offered $50. So I gave my friend $25 and we're both happy. Course that was 25 years ago

Nice Fuzzy! How'd you come across it?

Several years ago at a local coin show, a coin dealer had one. I had purchased other coins from him before, so he took a check.

I had not noticed this thread before - some great finds here!

I have made some really interesting 'finds' and 'cherry-picks' over the years.
Here are some of them.

This is my best find. A Gold Noble from the city of Gorinchem in the Netherlands, minted 1585-1586. It is also called a Rose Noble or Flemish Noble, imitating an English Gold Noble of Edward IV of England.

This find was even better. It is a Doppelgulden dated 1848 from the Grand Duchy of Hessen-Darmstadt. The first date of the type, and only the second known example.
There is only one public auction record for this date (an example in better condition), from auction records going back as far as 1895. This other example was recently auctioned again in 2016.

I found this example in an antique market in Brussels, Belgium in 1981. I paid about $ 20 for it.

Regarding US coins, here are some:

1794 Cent, Variety S-24 - 'Apple Cheeks'.
I found this one in an antique market in Antwerp, Belgium in the early 80's.
The seller had it graded as 'VG'
