Coinlover1899 posted this coin in the US Classic and Colonial coins section, but didn't get any responses with anyone who could definitely tell the year of this coin. I am posting it here, in hopes of someone being able to identify it.

Again, this is not my coin - coinlover1899 posted it in the Classic coin section but no one could identify the date. It had my interest piqued as neither I nor anyone else could definitely identify it, so I am posting it here again.

Mods - hope this is okay, if not please lock this. Thanks.

It's 1798; it says "17", it's a type 2, and it's not 1799. The '98 type 2s are an absolute bear to attribute because of reverse hubbing. I have no idea how to distinguish them. Where's Conder been anyways.

Since coinlover1899 seemed okay with it, I locked to original and pointed it here.

I think the key to it will be the short fraction bar. Still looking...I don't see a "7"
