Helvetica's list for this type gives many mint mark variants, but I couldn't find this one on there (I'll just mark it down as ANBI).

I wonder what that nobbled scabbard the soldier carries is?

The Mark before the A is the hoof from the horse.

Similar to my ANH example.

Thanks Maridvnvm. That's a really nice example you have there - very good die work on that soldier (but it seems that his calf muscle has slipped down his leg a bit!).
