What caused this? Is it just due to plating issues? On the obverse, part of the vest is somewhat missing or covered due to severe die scratches? On the reverse, there is a diagonal line from the top of the 2nd bay all the way down to the lower part of the 4th bay (more visible on the 3rd and 4th). Another short diagonal line on the lower part of the 5th bay.

Your knowledgeable inputs and opinions would be highly appreciated.

Reverse is a die clash and obverse is die polishing marks.

@John1, what seems to look like a diagonal line on the reverse columns is the part of the missing vest on the obverse. Thank you much again.

John1 is correct. The obverse die was polished, and the reverse shows Die Clashes.

The obverse is due to an overpolished die. The reverse line is a die clash.
