I am new to the coin collecting world and recently purchased a 1908 G 1/2 Mark coin KM# 17. I have attached some pictures and wanted to get an idea if this coin in the condition (I know it is only pictures) would be worth getting graded? Thanks in advance.

Despite being a lower mintage coin, the value is just not there for making sense to slab.

I would guess it grades mid VF to XF, IMO not worth getting graded

Thank you both for your recommendations. I purchased it for $14 from a seller in Germany and I knew the value varied based on condition. In the future for ungraded coins would you recommend a grading system or a tool to help estimate the grade? I knew at the worst the coin could be worth at least $14 but beyond that I was not sure.

What you might want to do is look at many coins of the same type on the Internet and try to get a feel for how they are graded by dealers. The more you look at the easier it will be to see where the coins wear first.
