Well it definitely appears to be an RPM under all that wear and tear. And the 1940-S is known for many DDO's and DDR's and even a fairly common DDO / DDR dual variety, however, I'm afraid this coin has been in too many pockets for me to even tell for sure but I do see a few areas of interest...
It was Struck Through Grease very slightly, but not nearly enough to carry a premium over face value though. There is no Doubled Die. Just circulation wear and flattening.
