May be nothing but after looking at a couple hundred pennies the last couple of days it's the only S one I've found. Is it anything?

It just means it was minted in San Francisco. Mintage: 544 Million. Depending on where you're located, finding S pennies can be scarce or easy.
Here in California, the older copper LMCs are getting harder to find due to hoarding.

Your S mint pennies usually are a little harder to find especially when you hit the mid 70's and they were not put out into circulation but just proof sets. As a general rule, I try to keep these around until I find a nicer one, especially in the 60-70's.

The other fact you may want to know is that as of 1982 all cents are made out of mainly zinc where as before that it was copper. The difficult part about this is that in 1982 they were actually made out of both materials and give people a little bit more of a challenge in finding them. But everything that was made out of copper is getting a little more difficult to find for the fact that a fair amount of people are starting to hoard copper and cents are the easiest way to do it. There is also a lot of topics on this on the boards so just do a quick search if you want to learn more about it.
