Is there anything wrong with putting the glass bowl with acetone with the lid on tight on the washing machine to kind of gently agitate the acetone when you run the washer. It seemed to get more dirt and grime than just soaking. Is that ok for cleaning?

Would not recommend this; the vibration could shake the glass bowl off of the washing machine, spilling the acetone and creating a hazardous vapor easily ignitable by any spark from the machine.

I didn't think of that. Thank you and I guess on the dirty ones I will slowly swirl every now and then to help any flakes drop off.

I agree. Any "agitation" should be done personally and gently. The acetone does the majority of the work, so not much else is needed in most cases and agitation while in acetone did not generally improve outcomes for me. I had to employ more mechanical techniques, involving q-tips, to get the stubborn gunk.

I wouldn't recommend you put it on the washing machine...acetone is quite flammable, and the slightest spark from the washing machine or nearby electrically powered device could cause a fire.

I like your idea. You might want to put down a rubber coaster or some other non skid item to keep it from walking around on your dryer. I might try it myself. Good luck.

@dorado That's a huge difference. I've just started trying acetone this week on a few coins, but from what I read, it doesn't help after a couple of minutes. I think I'll try longer, because I haven't gotten results anywhere near that good. As a matter of fact, I rolled a q tip to help on one coin, and it is very noticeable where the qtip was applied.

You wouldn't think so, but just rolling (not wiping) an acetone-soaked q-tip over the coin after an acetone bath can remove quite a bit of stuff still clinging to the coin. A toothpick or thorn can be used strategically to get into the smaller elements (such as lettering) to remove buildup, as well.

Those are nice results, Dorado.

I wasn't thinking of the dish sliding off the machine, was thinking the vibration could rub the coin where it touches the dish.

Unfortunately I was trying to get in between some devices and near the lettering and ended up rolling it in place which effectively results in "wiping". The result is not aesthetically pleasing to say the least. I may try a bit with a toothpick. I've often done this with coppers found metal detecting, but never tried on a silver coin.
