I have very little knowledge in this area, but that first framed set looks special to me. They display advanced medallic art. There are inscriptions on the lower obverse rim to both sides. Can you make them out in person? You may want to repost these here: http://goccf.com/t/301479

Thanks forthe reply. I'm at work now so I can't take a better look at them right now. I believe it's the info on the designer and engraver. My book says that it was designed by Pagliaghi, engraved by Capuccio and struck by Stefano Johnson. I'm 99% certain that's what the small text is around the edge.

Well the OP's absolutely gorgeous medal set and display that oozes class certainly take the cake. You hang that on the wall and they have to set up the velvet rope "so you can't touch" barrier because of people like me. I collect the admission tickets. As a whole they are really artfully designed and I have found the "single day" or "special event" admission tickets to be some of the most lovely. The so-called dollar below was minted on site and out of aluminum; cutting edge tech back then.

Yellow88.....nice token and thanks for the reply! The tickets are really nice looking too and fun to collect all the different varieties. Here's an example of a counterstamped ticket. I believe the remaining tickets were sold off after the fair and many businesses used them to spread their name.

qktbird that's some great info. Thanks. I had no clue remaining tickets were sold off after the fair for businesses to utilize for advertising/marketing. It makes good sense though. I think American Bank Note Co produced most if not all the admission tickets and, wow, what a top-notch job they did. A lot of the admission tickets are of a quality level on par with bank notes. I feel your pic above is a very nice representative example of just that.
Much to my surprise and delight I found that the REVERSE of quite a few single day type tickets were incredibly well done. Featuring very creative and intricate designs executed to a high standard.
Great post BTW. I felt pretty alone, in my very small town, in regards to my level of interest and not having any one to share it with. Thanks!

Here's another of my latest additions to the collection. I already had this medal but it wasn't as nice as this one so I upgraded.

Nice! One of the CCF members (TNG) is also a collector of the Columbian Expo tickets.
