I assume you mean the Walking Liberty half dollars as opposed to Standing Liberty quarters. These pictures seem to show die and/or normal wear. I couldn't find anything matching this in my cherrypicker's guide for 1944.

You are correct, I was a little hasty to get this on and I was looking at my standing liberty at the same time. I was thinking it could be a die clash in the first photo's?

I am by no means an authority on errors so I will let others chime in on this one. Honestly, with the wear on the coin, it's hard for me to detect anything that I don't know to specifically look for. :)
