on ebay.

I've heard that this sort of error is easy to create/falsify by chemically removing the digits?

Most likely removed after it entered circulation. I wouldn't buy one without certification.

Definite removed SNs. Washed on the back to remove what is probably dirt.

This seller or group of seller has been selling counterfeit fake error notes for a couple of years on ebay. Check out his other "errors"
All his sales are private.

Here is a posting about a fake Canadian Error Note with a different ebay ID but the same place Flushing, New York, United States

http://allbanknotes.blogspot.com/20...error_6.html

The sad thing is someone always falls for it and buys these fakes.

At first, I thought the error looked legit because the integrity of the "Bank of Canada" microprinting didn't seem compromised. However, when I looked at the back of the note- it is definitely faded which suggests it could have been dipped in some type of solvent. Given the history of this seller (thanks for sharing "ShareBear") I'm inclined to agree that the note in question is indeed a manufactured (or fake) error.

in addition to the removal of the numbers, the note was pressed, diminushing the value of any note , do not buy if you see a pressed note .
