I'm Phil, from Moody, Texas... 30 minutes from Waco to the North and from Temple to the South.

I've had boxes & bags of coins since my dad passed in the '90's. I recently dumped them on my table and am going through them. I'll post a lot of questions. I have no clue about photography, how to present them, coin grading, etc.

My first coin in qustion is an 1864 Un Sol, "Peruana." I've seen posts herein referencing a lot of counterfeits. Mine is roughly 38mm & non-magnetic. Are there any ideas if this is legit and how much it may be worth?

As stated, your coin is legit.
Hope you didn't really dump them on your desk.
Also never handle coins with your bare hands.
It is a good way to get fingerprints on your coin
that can't be removed and will devalue the coin.
Wear a pair of cotton gloves when handling.
That being said, looking forward to see what else you have.
Make sure that each coin is posted seperatly.

Yah, dumped them right there on the ol' wooden table. Sorted into plastic storage containers by magnetic & non-magnetic. I'll invest in a box of cotton gloves. I still don't know what I'm doing. Thanks for the feedback!
Can anyone give insight to this colorized 1900 Farthing? Sweet little old lady's coin was practically black until I lightened it with a Google's Picasa. I found this note online "...artificially darkened at mint to reduce confusion with half sovereign"
Any idea what it might be worth?
