Looks like a 1770-1775 George 111 British halfpenny

Yup, Keith nailed it. It's a British halfpenny of George III, probably a 1775 (the most common date.) These coins were widely counterfeited; both the regal issues and the contemporary counterfeits are of interest to collectors.

Appears to be a contemporary counterfeit...but the condition puts it in the 50p tin.

The arm holding the spear,date almost missing from the exurge. It is just not regal.
