numismatic student Bedrock of the Community United States 11896 Posts	Posted 12/01/2018 11:55 am I think if the acetone didn't work, only dipping in an acid solution would be the only choice, but that would result in a cleaned coin. I don't recommend it. Conservation is not likely to remove the stains. Luster looks impaired in a large area in the left obverse field above IN GOD WE. I would enjoy the coin as it is. I recommend you don't try to "improve" it. The 1921 Peace dollar is an important coin as one year type coin, but it is not rare in this condition. Report this Post to the Staff
