To me it looks like the large date unless I have the two of them mixed up. I am very new at this, although.

HAHA... now I am having mixed feelings, too...
But clearer picture would settle it ;)
Now on second look I am questioning it may be a large date... I am thinking the "2" has more of a tail them I saw before, and the eight is on the wide side (like Jimmy D was saying)...?
I was paying most attention to what I could make out on the shape of the "2"... noting the curves on the "2".
Late night searching, sometimes messes with me. Sometimes the only time I can get away from the chores and kids, to get some time to explore my coins.

My experience is Sometimes you can tell by the base of the 2 as well as the distance the 2 is from the rim .

It's a Zinc cent, not copper. Can you get a better pic of date?
