Where did you get the idea that is a Chapman Proof Morgan?
That is just a nice business strike.
A Chapman Proof has polished fields with cameo like devices.
Genuine Chapmans go for over $100,000 in top grades.

I think it was Heritage that recently (last few yrs.) sold a 65 for 100K.

69 boggles the mind.

The fact that its not a proof coin is a good start.

If I may ask, Where did you get the idea that its was a proof (let alone a 69)?

Compare your picture with a true Chapman. Not even close.

"In 1921, politically connected promoter and renowned numismatist Farran Zerbe arranged to have a limited number of proof examples of the re-introduced Morgan dollar struck at both the Philadelphia and San Francisco Mints. These "Zerbe Proofs" were made from hairlined dies (from insufficient polishing) and the resulting coins displayed somewhat less than a proper proof finish. Not to be outdone, influential Philadelphia coin dealer Henry Chapman prevailed upon his close relationship with Chief Engraver George T. Morgan (who had his own little "coin business" on the side) to strike much higher-quality proofs, in the process creating one of the major rarities of the 20th century. Chapman took delivery of 10 of the coins himself and supposedly, 5 additional proofs were sold to Ambrose Swasey. While reports are that as many as 30 Chapman Proof Morgan dollars were struck, the whereabouts of only about a dozen or so are known today."

This PR67 sold for 229K

OK-
I'm through with this posting.
Seems like we have another member who no matter
how many people tell him something, he still sees
things as how he wants.
Do you honestly think that is a $100,000+ coin you have?
Send it out to be certified and see what result you get.

Good Day

Back in 1956 a very wealthy "city slicker" courted a young lady. This gentleman was from New York where he worked for Gotham Enterprises. He is the fellow who purchased this coin as a gift for that young lady.Even though he was so generous of a suitor the young lady being just 15 at the time declined to marry this 45 year old bachelor.Heartbroken he took back off leaving behind his coin an thus his creepy attempt at marriage to a woman that was much to young at the time.

Concur this appears by photo provided to be a business strike 1921 Morgan - not even close in any regard as a proof strike coin.

Sooo - what does the '1956' story have to do with the coin?

I would grade this as an AU Slider? With some cleaning scratches? Slap me down if wrong, I'm a slow learner.

Cleaned, and not a Chapman proof.

If you believe it is, show us sharp and very close-up images of the following die markers:
