Hey guys,

Just needed a fair opinion from some of you out there. On ebay there are plenty of coin auctions that keep things open and some coin auction where the seller keeps things closed.

Private Listing- Buyer identities protected

To bid or not to bid?

Thank you,
Rest in Peace

I refuse to bid when I see private bidders . It's like I don't have a chance in heck to have a winning bid .

I appreciate the privacy when offered and see nothing wrong with private listings.

I would never bid on a listing with private bidding.
I like to know who I'm bidding against plus it's a perfect place for shill bidders to hide.

How can you know who you are bidding against when ebay keeps all bidders identities protected along with their feedbacks to other bidders?

There's no difference. You have no idea whose bidding against you either way. If you want it bid what you want. You winnor dont.

with Basebal21 - you either win or you don't.
I can't see why any one cares who they bid against. If they want an item and know what they are willing to spend, that is all that matters.

As a seller I have been toying with the private bidding settings and I find that I get considerably more bids on items with private bidding allowed.

as well. When I'm looking to bid, it makes no difference to me who else is bidding, only the price I can get it for versus what I'm willing to pay. I control what I spend. In that sense, a Private Listing only increases security for me.

Amazing! All of you guys. In this situation I can see advantages and disadvantages with private ebay listings from all you guys answers.

I guess my only concern about the private listing is shill bidding, but then again this can be avoided once you realize the price you are willing to pay for the coin, submit the bid and walk away!
