I can not find much information on a company called 'Island Creek Stores Company' .
They supplied mining outfits and their employees with goods.
Only known information I have is they supplied 'Island Creek Coal Company' in West Virginia, and 'Arctic Coal Company' in Norway in the early 1900's.
Island Creek Stores Company used metal tokens in W. Virginia, and paper chits in Norway.

The company stores were pretty much the same, making as much profit from the backs of their employees as they could! the stories are pretty much interchangeable. If you google 'Island Creek Coal Company' in West Virginia, you will come up with lots of info. Including Logan counties FB page with more in on one of the stores https://www.facebook.com/LoganCount...74562825477/
Or this one https://loganwv.us/growing-up-with-...mpany-store/ Through the lens of time looking back from a childhood the feelings bout the company stores is different than from a parents perspective.
Whether it was the mining company, lumber company, saw mill, Sugar mills or RR they are pretty much the same. pay them in script so they have to shop at the company store and if they need money the value of the script in exchange was discounted to discourage going elsewhere.

Did they supply anyone else besides "Arctic Coal" and "Island Creek Coal" ?
There are no records for script or tokens, besides those 2 sites, that I am able to find.

They were owned by each company and the coal company employees were payed in script for the mine companies stores only. If there were non employees living in a company town the stores would also accept cash. Again google is your friend https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...gQIChAB&url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Company_scrip&usg=AOvVaw1mtJ1VBMI9wErgNsqiFK5_ I typed in coal company script

Tennessee Ernie Ford captured it nicely w/16 Tons

You load sixteen tons, what do you get?
Another day older and deeper in debt
Saint Peter, don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store
