I have numerous coins with die cracks and errors back to the 1600's. When I read the title year 2000 of the post, I pretty much just sighed and thought, uh-huh, it might be a 1/4" flare on the top of a letter, or an inch-long skinny little thing. Sorry .
I was surprised to see the large crack on your coin because I haven't any nearly as large as that on any post-1985 nickel coinage. Nice find !!
