As I regularly comb ebay for coins, I just noticed something odd.
Normally, I only see perhaps 1 or 2 1925 pennies at any time on ebay.com, but now there is over a dozen.

Just an observation--I certainly wouldn't buy one there. So--are collectors hard-pressed for money, or are fakes coming to market?

I just searched on "1925 penny": I see what you mean.
One is described as a "replica";
all of the rest are over $50, and most have bids. I didn't comb them, to see if any of these might be fakes, but like you, I would be very wary.
Renniks' CV in VG is $90; VF is $300.
Perhaps the slide on the stock market is flushing out the nervous Nellies ? ... you know the type who are better described as "investors", rather than as "collectors".
