I picked up this coin from someone who found it at an estate sale in Wisconsin some time back and misplaced it, but just found it...so I'm as happy as can be this Christmas. The person took horrible blurry photos of it, but told me the holder had MS-60 on it. I told the seller if you want to make more money on it then take some more photos... The seller wanted to get rid of it now and then...I offered $315 and the price was accepted site unseen. Soon after getting it, I misplaced it...But here she is.....Give it a grade please. There is a nick right above the mouth at the lips. It still has mint luster.....low mintage.

The good news is you have a better date Half Eagle that appears to be genuine plus you got a good price on it.

I don't see a Mint State coin though and would put it at AU55 from your images (still worth well over melt).

Looks like a $400 coin. Merry Christmas!

P.S. I misplace a lot of things but gold coins are not among them. Keep these in a safe place.

thanks for letting me know I was trying to get as close to spot price, but also wanted to acquire because of the date and mintage.

AU-55 it is.....I won't be getting it slabbed now....unless I piggyback on a submission on the cheap. Still nice though.
