Sorry, didn't intend to be sarcastic. The ANACS grade simply left me in shock. Seeing that it only brought 27.00 on ebay shows that the buyer only had to pay a F-VF price. I realize that this type has weak hairlines even in proof. If taken out of the slab the rims would show a sharpness indicating that the coin has less wear than it looks based on the portrait. The cleaning may have cost some detail loss on the hair. The wear on the eagle would be EF at best. My 2 pfennig worth.
I can see why a seller would call it EF but if I were selling it I would call it VF -EF cleaned with mod-hvy handling or bag marks. I would price it as a VF based on "eye appeal". It is a hard call to make from a scan through a plastic holder.
