I was going through an inherited collection I received a while back, and I'm having troubles finding information on these coins. There are the 3 square ones, as shown, as well as 3 matching rounds. Any information is appreciated. Also, I would love to get them out of the old coin holder they're in. Any ideas on how to properly preserve these odd-shaped coins?

I promise, the terrible pictures don't give the coins the justice they deserve.

It's a pattern coin, like here: http://www.icollector.com/Hungary-p...ive_i9881543

It was quite common to sell pattern coins to public in some Eastern European countries.

Thanks Eurocoin! Are you familiar with information on these specific coins? I'd love to see some sort of appraisal.

Fnd1234 - unfortunately I'm not familiar with these or their market value. NGC Priceguide may give some direction, but usually shown values aren't accurate in the real world:

Ended auction results would be better to value these examples in my opinion. Usually best price levels are in the country of origin so maybe a quick search with Google Translator may give better results.

It looks like the sale price for a 1935 in the link from eurocoin was $85.

I found a recent auction result (about $200) for a 1929: https://www.coinarchives.com/w/lotv...3e740b85d686

And there is also an upcoming auction with a 1936 and a 1929 that you can follow:

Just be careful about comparing yours to examples that may be better preserved.

Very neat coins!
