It is a closed AM, normal for that year.

Concur with Close AM. Expected 'normal' reverse die for that year.

Nice photos of the die markers.

I have always found the 'FG' spacing to be difficult to judge. Politely suggest that you forget about that die marker and focus going forward on the 'A' spacing in 'STATES' ... as shown in your photograph.

That die marker to my eye is much easier to distinguish - is the 'A' centered between the dual 'T' or not?

Your 'A' is obviously shifted closer to the second 'T' ... hence Close AM.

Adding a photo of an 1998 WAM that I found roll searching - hopeful that you can view the difference.

Focus on that 'A' is 'STATES' ... that really helps me to find the elusive CAM.
