It looks like the Timeless Icons series got a price cut to $115. The first two (beaver and moose) were priced at $130 at release.
To a lesser percentage, the Wedding coin is $110 where the previous two were $115 (2018) and $113 (2017). It was $110 in 2015.
Is it due to weakness in silver price, or weakness in sales?

a mistake on the mint website - coin says 2019, description still says 2018. I checked it again this morning, and they've made the correction.

I've seen the picture of: -3 coin Silver Set - Wings of Hope (Maple Leaf Shaped coin flanked by 2 rectangular coins) - $389.95. RCM really tried to be creative here, I mean, I even feel the effort. But...didn't like. This isn't the coin(s) at all.

Interesting to note that the 'low COA' angle which was previously an Masters Club member 'benefit' is now just a marketing stretch to sell to the general public. Yet another indication of just how poorly RCM products are selling these days. The annual report later this Spring should be very telling. Agreed Silveroid. That thing (and the series of things) is just ill conceived and flat out ugly.

I'm looking forward to the Canadian fun and festivals series. I see folk music as a coin, but I'd love to see the coastal drive also represent Cape Breton. That could make for one beautiful coin.

Imo, the idea of Canadian fun and festivals series is very good for the coins. But mint went wrong way by introducing 1/2oz coin with very creative and nice external field, and stamping "sweet" coloured image at the center of the coin, asking for it CAD 50. And we do not have any illusions about how really the 'festivities' look like. Cherry Blossom as example:

Wow....I remember when RCM new monthly releases sent us all into a tailspin and now nothing. Really sad.

It is sad New1954. Though traditionally, the January release is the least unique/innovative of the year, I really don't see much excitement coming from most collectors in the foreseeable future. Certainly not for me and not at the inflated prices the RCM seems intent on asking. The sticky at the top of this forum posted in 2013 is a stark reminder of where the RCM has taken us in the last 6-7 years. In 2019, can you imagine them getting so bent out of shape about design or detail leaks of coming coins? Especially now, I'd think they would be more than happy to get even a little free marketing or attention.

Quote:Wow....I remember when RCM new monthly releases sent us all into a tailspin and now nothing. Really sad. Well, historically, atleast 8 years that I clearly know, the January is "traditional" release: annual sets, SD and bit more. So wouldn't expect much talking about it. But, still: If I do not see single word or fact or info from members regarding new SD or Bald Eagle coin - this is bad indicator. Something in addition: with the beauty, creativity and attractive pricing, applied to some recent Bullion world coins, the overpriced "numismatic" editions could be in trouble.

I was intending to write a post bucking the trend but... I did pony up for the SD, the Unc Set and the $100 Gold as that will meet my self imposed commitment to maintaining on-going series. I am done with coins where the detail is in a decal or painted overlay... The $50 Silver 5oz looks interesting but I will wait to see it in hand before I pony up 5x intrinsic value... I have been too disappointed in the past. I did not pony up for the Premium proof set yet though I will need a solution at some point for the gold plated proof SD to maintain my series... Similarly, the second proof (special edition) and the specimen sets have not yet been announced so they are not currently options. It is hard to complain about the topic of the regular issues... D-Day was a pivotal moment in Canadian and World history but unlike last year's coins such as the Angel of Victory the aesthetic is missing somewhat. The disappointing thing is that for a collector who has been collecting RCM NCLT since I moved to Canada in 1981 there is nothing on the annual list that inspires me to purchase beyond my desire for series integrity.

You know the interest in NCLT is at a all time low when no one made any posts for 4 days on this topic. On the other coin forum there have been no posts for 10 days until today.
There is no buzz at all regarding Canadian NCLT coins. Very few collectors seem to care about new releases.

I'm long since tired of NCLT and even tired about complaining about the RCM and their market flooding. I think most collectors have moved on to coins that (at the very least) hold their value or strengthen in the aftermarket (Swiss Francs, Chinese Pandas, Thalers, Roman and Byzantine coinage, etc)

There may be no buzz but there are many still interested - and tuning in regularly to assess RCM product - This thread started 5 days ago approaching 800 reads tells me many collectors are keen on what RCM is producing but sitting on the sidelines re posts In regards to the SD - it's far too similar in design to the 70th anniversary commemorative of D-day - maybe something more original will be revealed for the 80th anniversary in 2024.
