Looks like your 67 Lincoln might have been cleaned ,this changes the color of a copper coin .

It is cleaned, and it is bras. All Lincoln cents from 1963 to sometime in 1982 are brass.

It is neither brass plated nor is it fake. It is solid brass just like all 1967 LMCs.

my only concern is if all 1967s are brass, why dont they all have the color of brass as this one does. it is almost golden and looks like no other cent. I am 62 yrs old and I have never seen a cent this color. I also have other '67s and none are this color.

If you polish any penny from the era you will end up with a similar color. In my own experience using the brass polishing compound "brasso" will make a penny look just like this one, if not shinier.

Did you miss the fact that I said it had been cleaned? And harshly cleaned.

No I didn't miss that fact however "harshly" cleaned I think it has that appearance because of the lighting. The only cleaning done was a light rubbing with olive oil and drying with a cotton clothe. While I am no expert, I can assure u that the metal composition of that cent is positively not 95% copper. I tried polishing another 1967 (p) and could not come close to the color of the one in question. I have approximately 2500-3000 cents and only one comes close to the brass '67. And I have yet to come across a photo resembling this.

If you are not an expert then how can you be so confident the coin is not 95% copper?
If you really want to prove it, do XRF on the coin to determine surface composition. That will settle it.
Until then, we have to go on the fact that the coin is 95% copper just like all the other ones made in 1967. There's been some damage to it, through polishing that we've seen before but you haven't.
