You have come to the right place to learn about Canadian Cent errors.
Would you take that cent out of the 2x2 and check the diameter with
another large .cent
Looks to me like there may be a couple of flat spots as if someone
removed part of it.

It can't happen at the mint .. it needed someone's hands and some tools to make it look that way(smaller). What's the diameter?

Hi
I bought this coin from ebay.
A real beginner .. I should have checked with this forum before buying...
I asked the infos to the seller, who was (IMO) honest in his responses.

There is no flat spots on the edge.
The coin is smaller.

He talked about a small planchet... and said that it was not a mint error ...

The deal was cancelled.

I greatly appreciate this forum and I thank you for your great opinions.

I learned a lot from this "deal": I doubted it was not a mint error and I should have made my homework before committing to buy.

There is a learning curve to be an error collector !!!

I thank you for your attention !! This is greatly appreciated !

Gerald

Thanks again ! Gerald
