Looks Greek to me!
The picture of the coin does no justice.
It is real dark/black - silver tarnished.
The coin is only 15 mm in diameter.
Not sure why only half of horse on reverse is there

I really want to say Roman -- Augustus (because of the GVST on the back and a similar looking head), but I could be WAY off...

Wait for Sap to enlighten us.

My first impression is that's a provincial Roman coin from Egypt--a Tetradrachm perhaps?
I'll look forward to hearing what it really is.
I believe the "half horse" is called a Hippocampus--a stylized version of the Seahorse.

I better get out of this part of the forum. I thought someone broke off part of the coin to give change.

No, you're quire correct. It is Roman, and quite an interesting one too. This is (the remains of) a silver denarius of Augustus, the first emperor. Reverse type is a capricorn holding a globe, with AVGVSTVS below. Struck in Spain, circa 18-16 BC. Listed in Sear as number 1592. Examples on Wildwinds.
