What's wrong with this 1985 d penny? The surfaces are smooth, not scratchy. You can see Lincoln sitting in the memorial in the back. What's going on with this? Thank you!

Very interesting. It looks like the penny was sanded down, so the high points were all worn through exposing the zinc underneath.

With Bobby. It's not an error. It's just Post Strike Damage ( PSD). Your coin is only worth face value.
