Coin World- Veteran Heritage Auctions' auctioneer Bob Merrill called the bidding Jan. 10 on the discovery example of the 1943 copper alloy Lincoln Cent found in change in 1947 at a high school cafeteria in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The winning hammer price was $170,000 which, with the 20 percent buyer's premium added, brought the total price realized to $204,000. The sale was held in conjunction with the Florida United Numismatists Convention in Orlando, Florida.
