Hi everyone I came across this 1944 nickel and it seems pretty messed up or damaged was wondering if it was an error coin or not.id appriciaite it if you can share some feedback on it.thanks

It's 35% Silver, but only worth melt due to the damage

I don't see anything other than circulation damage. It is worth more than five cents, but less than $1.
