I also used to have a blanc of Charles, but I weeded out my French Royals over the last few years to focus on other areas.

I think this is a nice, classic medieval coin. Large enough to easily read the gothic legends (KAROLVS REX FRANCORVM; SIT NOME DNI BENEDICTV), and that historic coat of arms used for nearly 500 years. And reasonably nice examples are within reach for most collectors.
You might be able to narrow the date range. I do not have a reference on medieval France, but I see in Jean Elsen's offerings of the medieval French blancs that there are multiple "emissions" in each reign which must have some identifying characteristics to allow a narrower date range. I think mine was 1411-1419.
