In terms of overall and long term damage to the hobby I would say yes. The theft is obviously very scummy and deserving of a nice long jail sentence, but if we look at the overall impact on the hobby the made up information by what was supposed to be a respected researcher is still be debunked decades later.

I see your point, but the people whom Sheldon stole from may have a different perspective.

Regardless, there seems to have been a group of cronies at the time who had less than stellar morals. Even Saint Q David had a hard time coming to grips with reality when it came to Breen.
