I went to my bank on lunch and traded 2 dollars out for a roll of nickels and this was the 1st one I picked up. How does a gem like this show up in a circulated roll. Do I have a MS High Grade Coin and what should I do with it. I am a newbie to the game. Any input would be appreciated

Thank You Kindly

Always fun to find 60+ year old coins in nice shape. Philladelphia-minted coins like yours are less common than Denver for 1958. I don't think this one is MS since there looks to be some wear on the bottom step, making is AU-58. It might be a 5-stepper, but for FS you need 6. Acetone will probably remove the green but if this coin has indeed seen for circulation the acetone might rob it of remaining luster.

If I send it to PCGS I believe they require 5 steps for FS association. If that is the case do I have a money maker? I watch alot of the youtube videos surrounding 50's, 60's, and 70's fS nickels and I saw that the 58 w FS could hit 10k or more at auction. Is that real stuff or what is more the reality of it? Cause I am in the worst spot ever in life right now and that would sure help..lol

Thanks

IMHO,will not make FS grade and not worth having it slabbed. Over all a nice looking coin to add to a folder.

AU-58, not FS, certainly not worth sending in.
