Ok, so I've stared at this on and off for awhile trying to make it
Machine Doubling or a bad hair day for Abe. My camera exaggerates every little mark and gets blurry with high luster coins, so I'll explain some details.
The possible double ear, west and slightly south has similar depth. The normal ear is thick at the lobe. The coin is not in late die stage as the picture may suggest (see whole coin pix), not a
Dryer Coin or anything I can come up with that would emulate with defined lines.
I know it isn't a key date but new discoveries are being made all the time (1988). As always, your time and expertise is appreciated.
