While searching tonight I came across this SLD. It is not slabbed. How does this one look to you? I do see some spotting on the rim.

Is that an old cleaning job? I really don't like the reverse shield, something going on there.

Yes the rims concern me. The reverse rim is chewed up a bit and if they're filed then that is likely why it's not in a holder. The VF35 grade is as high as it could ever grade assuming there are no problems so $400 is a bit high.

Thanks to both of you! The rim on the reverse looks worse than the rim on the front. I need to do a little better job of taking a good close look at these coins before posting.

Other than the reverse rim, I think it's a pretty coin but that rim, dunno if I could forget about it..

Pass. You can get a TPG one in similar grade for less.

Much better than I was expecting. Looks like wholesome original vf example of a common date. It was probably submitted or cracked out of a rim damage holder. Nice coin though.
