coinworldtv Pillar of the Community Austria 566 Posts	Posted 02/17/2019 11:36 am From what I have experienced, this type of restrikes do tend to sell for less than their original price, a year or two after they were issued. Buying one for the collection is one thing, but one should be careful with larger investments. The mintages are way too high and mostly higher than the actual demand. Report this Post to the Staff

I have every example.... and I think I only continue to buy out of habit. In regards to the Royal Dutch mint. I am wondering how did they calculate the price of the gold piedfort issue. The mintage is 10 pieces, but €5000 for 2 ounces of gold (€2500 per ounce!), for a coin which was struck yesterday, is kind of crazy. Investing in one of these coins might make more sense if they melt the unsold pieces. This would create some sort of scarcity and will reward the people who put their money into those coins on time.
