1960 D Possible RPM In 6 Of Date...

Take a look at this 1960 D, 6in the date is very strange...looks like a D mint mark...any thoughts?

In the date, that's not an RPM. That's called a Die Chip, which is pretty common on the Small Dates. You do seem to have a minor RPM though, on the mintmark.

RPM is for mintmarks. RPD is for dates. I'm not sure when exactly the switch took place, but dates weren't punched into the die in 1960.

now that I look at it, I don't think it is going to be the DDO-010.

That is a die chip on the 6, not a RPM. It could still be a minor RPM, as E&V noticed, it looks like it could have a split lower serif but it's hard to tell with this picture.

Levelsofmadness, don't get ahead of yourself. The six is a very common place for die chips, so this may not be the DDO. If we can confirm this is a minor split serif RPM, we can rule out that doubled die, as the die markers would list the RPM. Also, I believe you mean WDDO-010, not DDO-010. No such thing as DDO-010.

For US coins last year for RPDs was 1908, and for RPMs 1989.
