I note that the bust effigy that Coaster has shown has 'JC' (Jody Clark) on the shoulder of the effigy. Jody Clark is also the designer of the new head effigy for British coins. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also interesting to note that the standard reverse design for the 2019 5 Cents carries the old Ian Rank Broadley effigy on the obverse.

Yes , it is mentioned in this article. https://www.smh.com.au/national/roy...-p501fe.html'Mr Clark's design was chosen through a competition in the United Kingdom and has been used on the coins since 2015. The portrait to be used on the Australian coins is an adaption of the United Kingdom's effigy.'

I'm a new collector. But I really want to get all of the coins with the queen on. Notes too. Does anyone know the best way to do this?

@ stemck:- The best and cheapest way of building a complete type set of Australian decimal coins 1966 to date, when you have some spare time, is to just throw all of your pocket change into a 2 litre container. At the end of each week, go through them take out two of each new different type that you have't got of each denomination, and throw them into a separate 2 litre container. Return to circulation any coin of which you have more than two examples. Get yourself a coin album with about 15 pages that can hold 2x2 cardboard coin flips, and start assembling your collection. About 150 or so different types issued into circulation in all denominations so far. All coins obtained at face value. I still do this ! Your collection will never be valued at much more than face value, but your interest could well extend into other areas of numismatics, such as pre decimal coins, medals, bullion coins, World coins, or even ancient coins. I started into numismatics generally, via an interest in pre decimal coins, as a kid.

Hi Everyone, I just thought I would share this; there are some 2019 20c coins with the new effigy in circulation. I got one in my change ages ago and was just checking to see how rare it is.

Hi Lisa, as far as I'm aware the mint hasn't released numbers yet but to give you an indication I've come across half a dozen in circulation without going out of my way to look for them.

They probably won't be worth a huge amount in the long run - I thought the mint sold 2019 rolls last year so plenty of UNC examples should be available. But in good condition they will be scarcer I think - 2019 mint sets were old effigy only I think? Or maybe I'm getting mixed up and they were new effigy only.

Just found an interesting (temporary?) fact on PJ's Coin Capers Youtube series: So far, the total mintage of 2019 50 Cents coins with JC effigy is 14,000 coins only, ref. :- Mint 2019 interim report. Full report for 2019 due to be published in November or thereabouts.

hi sel_691 and everyone
As I mentioned in another topic section recently, the FINAL mintage figures for 2019 won't be available until the 2021/2022 RAM annual report is released. The 2020/2021 RAM annual report will only have the final mintage figures up to 2018. Any figures in this year's 2020/2021 RAM report will only have the mintage figures up to June 30th 2019, which is the RAM's usual cut off date for inclusion of mintage figures for their annual reports.
The RAM continued minting 2019 coins after June 30th 2019 until they started the minting of coins for 2020, so any further minting of 2019 coins will be included in the RAM's 2021/2022 annual report as the minting of 2019 coins up to June 30th PLUS the number of coins minted after June 2019 up until the RAM starts minting coins for 2020.
For waht it's worth :- I have many doubts about the accuracy of some of the RAM's final mintage figures, epecially for 2016 and 2017.
