I had a few bids on some specimen coins...and was soundly outbid!

I'm surprised at the prices they went for.
A 1948 nickel SP64 sold for just under $400 including premium...add taxes, shipping, and the credit card fee, and you're looking at $450+

Agreed, some nice prices on those. A bunch of nice quarters as well, but nothing that I was willing to overbid for.

I was outbid on the 1971 brockage nickel dollar struck on the 25c planchet... but I did have someone pick up something cool on the bourse floor for me on Friday.

Auction prices were generally strong for the pieces that sold. The best stuff in the auction did not sell. I bid on a few pieces and missed out by a one or two increments. As for the show itself, there were few deals to be had. There was little in the way of exceptional material aside from the usual dealers who trade in such things. Overall, I was disappointed even though I did pick up some fun things.
