I didn't post this in the auction forum because I thought it would interest ALL Morgan collectors. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...WA:IT&ih=017All of this seller's auctions have the phrase "real no." somewhere in the auction wording. Oddly placed of course. I think they are trying to hedge in case they are caught selling counterfeits. "I said right in the auction that No, it wasn't real!". ebay needs to close this one down.

If you want a bunch of fake coin pics, just go to that seller's other auctions!

I did a couple days ago. His auctions are gone from ebay US now... But his Aussie auctions are still there seducing US dealers. Check the questions on the 92-CC. These coins ARE coming to the U.S.!

HOLEY COW! I CAN'T BELIEVE HE LET IT SLIP TO THE AUCTION!
I just looked again, and the question I sent him is in the auction! I tried to corner him, but never thought he would bite!

Hey, I tried to report it and it said it was an invalid auction number! I hope that it was cancelled or something.

Well, their English does not seem good at all (unsurprisingly)... perhaps they're not trying to pass it as a real coin?
Aside from the 2 (crooked), the mint mark (too large), and the color (much too gray and dull), it looks like a decent forgery... that's the scary part. If they ever start using real silver we could be in trouble.
I'm surprised that the Treasury Department doesn't get more involved in this kind of thing, since they're forging U.S. legal tender... guess it's too hard to track these guys down on the other side of the Pacific.

I don't think the U.S. Treasury is worried about classical pieces. They aren't being faked to use in transactions.
