This is what I consider the hardest Series to grade.
So good luck.

Sorry about the ebay style picture
The Coin has a bright mirror silver finish with full mint luster I have had to reduce the Brightness of the image so the detail can be seen.
There is no doubling the appearence is caused by the glare of the minimal lighting I used on take the picture.

Good luck

Rest in Peace

Hi Nohope

What a beauty !!!

MS-68 FBL possible cam designation if the reverse has more contrast than shows in the pic , I would love to see this one in person.

The only place that looks like a mark on the coin is above and below E Pluribus Unum.

Looking at the coin it may be a proof. Anyone here know how to tell the difference?

I think it's a business strike. The fields look too satiny for a proof. I see the grade as MS67 FBL. In hand, it may grade higher. What I see as very minor flaws in the images could very well be due to the picture. Very pretty!

OK now I am concerned!! this coin has been kicking around in my general draw for a couple of years as I don't realy collect Franklins.
I just checked with PCGS and they don't even list an MS67 FBL and the MS66 is $2800 even at PCGS inflated prices thats a lot of coin to have lying around I think I will take it to the Money Show in Houston at the end of the week and see what a few dealers say.
I suspect thats is a proof which would put it around the $40 mark which is far more likely for something I picked up in a bulk lot at auction.

The scan makes it look more like a proof with the black fields,,If it is a proof? and I say if since the photos make the coin look like a Business strike coin, just put a PR in front of my original grade, PR-68.

Sorry for the delay in responding to your question nohope,My plate has been kinda full for the last couple of days.

I took this one to the Money show in Houston. None of the TPG would even look at it claiming that they did not have any graders at the show.
Superior glanced at it and said "You have a Proof Franklin" I asked if it would make PR66 the reply was "No"
I am no grading expert but it takes more than a 1 second glance at a coin for me to grade.

I'm surprised that this coin is a proof with the satiny look of the fields in the pic. As a proof, and judging from the pics, I'd call it PR64. Please keep in mind that proof grading is not my forte, however.
