On the CCF Tool Bar the mail notification "gadget" my email count relates to nothing that I can figure out. For example right now it shows two envelopes with an asterix and [58]. I periodically click on the link and it will check for new mail but the number changes at random. I have my email used for this site forwarded to my outlook email where all my email accounts are easily accessed. I delete from the actual email account as well as the forwarded email to outlook. The number has no meaning to me. How do you clear that number or at least help me understand what it represents? Not a big deal but I am curious and it bugs me!

have you clicked the CC on the right hand side and went to toolbar options and set up the email notification settings by clicking the button? I have mine set up for outlook also and mine works fine here

Hi Bryan,
I have the email account in the settings set for the actual email address used "paul@**********.net" and my "paul@**********.net" account is set to forward to my outlook. I don't know how I would set up for outlook?

I figured it out! Eventhough I have been deleting messages in both email programs. I just realized that the base email program had a little option button to "purdge deleted" emails. This has cleared my email counter on the CCF toolbar! Funny I would check my deleted folder and nothing was ever in it. Now I know that even though I delete and clear out the deleted folder I still have to delete the saved deleted emails. Who'd a thunk it.
Thanks for the prompt reply; it motivated me to relsolve this puzzle!

We the staff are all part of the collective, so we just need to concentrate our thoughts and we get answers from each other using sensory perceptions. Well, that and emails work too.  |
