Hi everyone, I just acquired this ancient Chinese cash coin. It appears to be a Western Han Wang Mang cash, which is 23 millimeters in diameter and 3.53 grams. While the reverse is blank, the obverse should read "Huo-Ch'uan." Do you think that it is authentic. And if so, would you have any guesses as to the value? Thanks!

Looks genuine; price would be about $1 unless I'm missing something (there are some rare variants). You can find them in much higher relief and with better patina for a couple bucks.

I don't know much about this series, and I stand to be corrected, but
the presence of an edge rim of constant thickness makes me suspicious to think instead it may be a cast modern fake.

Finn235 & sel_69l - Thanks for the help! I actually got it for 25 cents from a dealer's junk bin. This dealer tends to just throw all cash coins in there since he knows nothing about them.

sel_69l - yes, the rim does seem a little too regular and well-formed. But, then again, it raises the question of why one would go to such lengths to fake, patinate, and encrust in dirt for a coin worth $1?
