eBay, as recently as Sunday afternoon, had the option to sort auctions by "ending soonest" or "ending today."
"ending soonest" is not at all accurate because you have to wade past the first 25 pages or so of promoted listings until you get to the real "ending soonest" listings. You used to be able to bypass this scam by sorting with "ending today."
Earlier today, "ending today" was still available. Now it's gone! When I go to "ending soonest," I have to go to page 23 to get to where I want to look at the auctions that are really ending soonest.
BTW, I'm using my computer at work with Windows Explorer, but I've used this many times before & have not encountered this problem. Earlier today, when I still saw the "ending today" option, I was using my home computer with Firefox. Also, BTW, I'm looking under the Category of Coins: US.
Anyone else notice this? Edited by yechi7 08/18/2008 12:41 am

the only way the option for "ending today" doesn't show up for me is if I am in a category and am searching for a specific date or term in the listing, then it only shows "ending soon"

What browser are you using? Explorer or Firefox? Also, the whole apperance of the Category page listings look different. For instance, I click on Half Cents. Up until tonight, I used to get a choice of Sub-headings of Half Cents; Bust or Early, Classic, Coronet, with Date of Issue range in parentheses under the Sub-headings. Now, that's gone. I get choices like: Refine search Mint Philadelphia San Francisco New Orleans Certification Uncertified Certified Not Specified Material Copper Silver Not Specified Price Please enter a minimum and/or maximum price before continuing. $ to $ Condition Circulated Uncirculated Not Specified Method of Manufacture Business Strike Not Specified Seller Specify sellers... AllPreferences Buying formats Auction Buy It Now What's happening?

That's the way it used to work for me also, before tonight.

I just got my answer: At the top of the Category Listings Page is an icon that says "NEW - See search improvements." When you click all the way through, it gives the option to "opt out.": At the bottom of the final page of FAQ, ebay says: "How do I opt out of the new search? We do encourage you to use the improved search experience. However, if you are seeing the new search results and would like to switch back to the regular ebay search results, just click the "opt out" link at the top or the bottom of the search results page." How do you like that?
