Have a 1974D Lincoln/kennedy penny with some errors but dont still learning the terminology on coins. Can some tell me what rhis error would be? Its definately off center on the obverse and reverse. There also seem like a doubling on the mint. Any thoughts on this coun?

Not an error. That's called a counterstamp. It was intentionally done and is a form of Post Strike Damage ( PSD). Although, it does carry a small premium, since some people like collecting these.

So does that mean it was damaged intently during business strikes?

No. It means that the damage happened after it left the U.S. Mint. It basically means that it happened after the strike, so it is not an error.

Well I mean, people do it just for fun because it looks neat. There not imprinting the images onto the coins during the mint process. People do it after they already have the coin in their pocket change.

Chafemasterj Hello.. Thanks for the enquiry. I neber researched if it was other faces other than Kennedy's. All I ever heard ppl talk about was Kennedy being on a penny. Appreciate the help.

On thing I can DEFF say about this coin is that the mint is doubled and has a rim error. Its off center. So it has a counterstamp and bussiness strike errors on this coin.
