Hi, I am new to the forum as well as coin collecting, I have found that even the research and wealth of information obtained is just as addicting as going through piles of coins in search of that one coin that stands out. I have just started and have not found anything to exciting, 1920 Wheat penny, 1940 nickel. But they will work for a start. Anyway as I was going through my change today after work as I do every morning something stood out on the reverse of this 1992 P nickel on the reverse in America, if you notice on the c there is something over lapping it. My question is can anyone tell me if it is just from the abuse of being in circulation or an actual error.

To the CCF

If your referring to the C in America, then it looks like a small die chip.
You can keep it as an example but extra value.

To CCF! I would like to see a much clearer picture of that area. It could be damage, but I can't tell at the moment.

After seeing larger pictures, I have to change my previous
analysis and say it has taken a hit that has moved the metal.

I figured the odds were in favor of damage, but it peaked my interest enough to ask. Thanks guys I appreciate it. I try to study up on the different coin errors as much as I can but just getting started.
