Does anyone have information on buying from a Canadian Auction. I am not talking about fees from the auction, but does Customs get involved? Shipping charges? Thanks

What auction are you looking to buy from? Shipping charges will depend on the weight and size of items you purchase. You may also have to pay duties depending on the value of the items.

Actually the auction was last evening and they were selling quite a few U.S. Coins in the auction. With the exchange rate I felt there were some deals to be had.

The auction company in question uses Canada Post for shipping and the auction fees weren't too bad, but I didn't know what happens when it hits customs/border. I passed as I didn't know and there were no responses to the question yesterday. If anyone has had any experiences with Canadian auctions I would still like to know for future reference.

P.S. The Auction Company was Stapleton Auctions, I believe in Ontario.

Also CDNCoins..thanks for your response. Apparently very few from the U.S. have ever purchased from a Canadian Auction.

I've always wanted to buy some pennies from them but afraid to use a credit card over the different country places.

Aside from a currency conversion fee it really doesn't make any difference. There's no added risk for Canada
