Hey guys, I will admit, I am new to this and seeking some help, guidance and input. I am a casual currency collector and here lately, mint errors have fascinated me. My collection has grown over the years when I pick things up here and there, and mostly, I just stumble upon. Which leads me to my question.

Yesterday, I stumbled upon this 1973-D Washington quarter. On the reverse, it appears there is a mint error in regards to the eagle. The most prominent feature is the left wing which has struck the rim of the coin as seen in the pictures I have attached.

My request for guidance is in regards to this being a mint error, and if so, does it have value? Is it worth getting it graded or certified? When looking for this exact error, I have came up short. Thanks to all who have took the time to read and/or respond, and more importantly, thanks for what you do.

To CCF! Just damage on the wing from Post Strike Damage ( PSD), meaning that the damage happen after it left the U.S. Mint (after the strike). It's only worth face value. Not even worth getting it graded by a TPG, as it would be a waste of time and money, since it's only worth face value.

Not an error, just damage. PMD
Something hit and cut the rim pushing the metal back.

Also to the CCF

I want to thank you guys for your help and advice. Considering I am the seriously under-experienced one here, please consider my reply as not an argument, but more-so my viewpoint.

I have attached a few more pics for your consideration, one of the two coins is the quarter in question and the other is another quarter from the 70s. I may be wrong, but it appears the coin with the damage is off centered in comparison to a standard quarter if you will, more so to the left also considering the position of the word "United". If your assessment stays the same, I will leave it be.
