I first noticed that the quarter felt heavier and makes a different sound when dropped. When weighed it was 5.78g. I thought my scall wasnt right so I weighed it on a different one and it weighed heavy 5.79g. I need help determining why the quarter weighs more. Could it be on wrong planchet? The heavier coin is pictured on the left.

It's still within the Mint tolerances, since the normal weight is 5.69 grams.

Maximum in tolerance weight for a clad quarter is 5.897 grams so your coin is normal.
